Terms of service
Last updated 31 Oct 2026
Please read these terms carefully, in particular the health disclaimer (section 9) and the exclusion and limitation of liability (section 10).
1. About these terms
These terms form a contract between you and Diogo Filipe Teixeira Figueiredo, a private individual established in Portugal (NIF 281468389), who runs Loog ("Loog", "we", "us"). The legal notice lists our details.
By creating an account or using Loog, you confirm that you have read and accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use Loog. Our privacy policy explains how we handle your personal data.
Nothing in these terms limits the rights that consumer protection law gives you and that cannot be waived by contract.
2. The service
Loog is a training logbook: it lets you plan programs and workouts, record training sessions, and see your history and statistics. It is a record-keeping tool. It does not provide coaching, medical or nutritional advice.
Loog is in early access. Features may be added, changed or removed, and the service may sometimes be interrupted for maintenance, updates or reasons beyond our control. We will try to give notice of changes that significantly reduce what you can do with Loog.
3. Who may use Loog
You must be at least 16 years old and able to enter into a contract. Loog is offered for your personal, non-commercial use. You may not use it to provide services to others, such as coaching clients, without our written permission.
4. Your account
- You sign in with your Google account. Google is the only sign-in method.
- An account is personal: do not share it or use someone else's. You are responsible for keeping your Google account secure and for activity in your Loog account.
- Tell us without delay at support@loog.app if you suspect unauthorised use of your account.
- You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete account. Deletion is immediate and final.
5. Price
Loog is free during early access. If we introduce paid plans, we will tell you at least 30 days in advance. You will never be charged without separately and explicitly agreeing to a paid plan and its terms, and you will be able to request a copy of your data and delete your account instead.
6. Your content
The training data, notes and other content you enter remain yours. You give us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, copy and display that content only to the extent needed to run Loog for you. The licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies kept in backups for the period stated in the privacy policy.
You are responsible for what you enter. Do not enter content that is unlawful, infringes someone else's rights, or contains other people's personal data without a legal basis.
7. Acceptable use
When using Loog, you must not:
- break the law or help anyone else break it;
- access, or try to access, accounts, data or systems that are not yours;
- probe, scan or test the security of Loog, or bypass its security or usage limits, without our written permission;
- disrupt or overload the service, including through automated requests, scraping or bots;
- copy, modify, decompile or reverse-engineer Loog, except where the law expressly allows it;
- resell, sublicense or commercially exploit Loog or its exercise library;
- send abusive, unlawful or misleading messages through the contact form, or impersonate anyone.
8. Intellectual property
Loog's software, design, name, logo, texts and exercise library belong to the operator or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property law. These terms give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable right to use Loog under these terms, and no other rights.
9. Health and safety disclaimer
Loog does not provide medical, health, physiotherapy, nutritional or coaching advice, and nothing in it is a substitute for such advice. Programs, exercises, exercise descriptions, video links, targets, loads, volume and other statistics are general information and estimates only. They are not tailored to your health, fitness level or circumstances.
- Consult a doctor or other qualified health professional before starting or changing a training program, especially if you have a medical condition, an injury, are pregnant, or have not trained recently.
- Learn the correct technique, warm up, use appropriate loads and a spotter where needed.
- Stop immediately and seek medical help if you feel pain, dizziness, shortness of breath or discomfort.
Physical training carries an inherent risk of injury. You decide what, how and how much you train, and you do so at your own risk and under your own responsibility.
10. Exclusion and limitation of liability
Loog is provided free of charge, "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we give no warranty, express or implied, that Loog will be uninterrupted, timely, secure or error-free; that its content, calculations or statistics will be accurate, complete or up to date; that it will meet your needs or be fit for a particular purpose; or that data will never be lost.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for:
- any injury, illness, damage to health or other loss arising from your training, from exercises you choose to perform, or from your reliance on any program, exercise, description, video link, calculation or statistic in Loog;
- loss, corruption or unavailability of data, including your training history (keep your own records);
- interruptions, delays, errors or the discontinuation of Loog or any of its features;
- acts or omissions of third-party services, such as Google sign-in, YouTube, hosting, database and email providers, or the content of external websites linked from Loog;
- unauthorised access to your account resulting from a failure to keep your Google account secure;
- indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, revenue, opportunity or goodwill, or any loss that was not reasonably foreseeable;
- events beyond our reasonable control (force majeure).
Where liability cannot be excluded but can be limited by law, our total liability to you for all claims relating to Loog is limited to the amount you paid us for Loog in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. While Loog is free, that amount is zero, to the extent permitted by law.
What this section does not exclude. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our own conduct, for damage caused by our intent (dolo) or gross negligence (culpa grave), or for any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including Articles 18 and 21 of Portuguese Decree-Law n.º 446/85 on standard contract terms, Article 809 of the Portuguese Civil Code, and the mandatory consumer protection rules of the country where you live.
11. Your responsibility
To the extent permitted by law, you are responsible for, and will compensate us for, loss and reasonable costs we suffer as a direct result of your breach of these terms or your unlawful use of Loog.
12. Suspension and termination
You can stop using Loog and delete your account at any time.
We may suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly breach these terms, if the law requires it, or to protect Loog or other users. Except where urgent action is needed, we will warn you first and tell you why.
We may discontinue Loog. If we do, we will give at least 30 days' notice, when reasonably possible, so you can request a copy of your data.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example when Loog or the law changes. We will tell you about material changes by email or in the app at least 30 days before they take effect, unless a shorter period is required by law or for security reasons. If you do not agree, you can delete your account before the changes take effect. If you keep using Loog after that date, the updated terms apply.
14. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by Portuguese law. If you are a consumer living in another country, you also keep the protection of the mandatory rules of that country (Article 6 of Regulation (EC) 593/2008, Rome I).
Please contact us first at support@loog.app: most problems can be solved quickly. Disputes are decided by the competent courts under applicable law. If you are a consumer, you can always bring proceedings in the courts of the country where you live (Article 18 of Regulation (EU) 1215/2012). You may also turn to an alternative dispute resolution entity where one is competent.
15. General
- If a court finds any part of these terms invalid, the rest remains in force and the invalid part is replaced by the valid provision closest to its purpose.
- If we do not enforce a right immediately, we do not waive it.
- You may not transfer your rights under these terms. We may transfer ours to someone who takes over Loog, as long as your rights are not reduced; we will tell you if this happens.
- These terms and the privacy policy are the whole agreement between you and us about Loog.
